Whilst enjoying a leisurely walk Sunday morning I discovered Bernie Worthington of Drakesbrook Wines had a display as part of the new Farmers Market being held at the Mandurah Marina, Dolphin Quay.

Bernie is off to Vietnam this week but will be back from Sunday 5th February, make sure you stop in and say hello!  They have some great new wine to taste....

If your business is running a promotion at the moment please share it by sending through to me to circulate.

Guest Speaker - Kevin Sheedy

Kevin John Sheedy AFL playing & coaching legend will entertain you over a two course lunch.

Sheedy was the coach of AFL club Essendon for 27 years, and a player for Richmond for 12 years. He holds the AFL record for the most games combined as a player and coach. He is currently the senior coach of the Greater Western Sydney Football Club (The Giants) in the Australian Football League.

On 25 July 2007, it was announced that Sheedy would not have his contract renewed as Essendon coach after the end of the 2007 AFL season.

In Sheedy's last home game as coach against Richmond in Round 21 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, a near sell out crowd of 88,468 people turned out to farewell Sheedy and James Hird (who was retiring as a player). Although Essendon were defeated by a few goals, Sheedy received a standing ovation as he left the field for the last time.

Sheedy's passion for coaching continued and he vowed to pursue a coaching career at another club but in the interim accepted an ambassadorial position with the AFL.

On 9 November 2009, Sheedy signed a three year deal and was named as the inaugural coach of the Greater Western Sydney Football Club.

Come and listen to the man that created the ANZAC DAY clash between the Bombers & the Pies!!

One of the men who changed the thinking of Football in Australia, Kevin Sheedy.
